The Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs is pleased to announce the appointment of three new District Administrators (DAs) who have taken up their roles in Beau Vallon, Grand Anse Mahe and Pointe Larue. There are Mrs Mirenda Cardovillis, Ms Valdana Sultan and Mrs Nadine Ah-Kon.
These individuals bring a wealth of experience and expertise to their positions and their appointments mark a significant step forward in our commitment to effective governance and community development.
Mrs Mirenda Cardovillis has assumed the role of District Administrator for Beau Vallon. She holds a Certificate in Emergency Care Assistance with a diverse career background, including roles as an Emergency Care Assistant, cabin crew member at Air Seychelles, and business representative at Savannah Gold Ltd based in Kenya. Her strong ties to the community and her involvement in various initiatives in her home district, Bel Ombre, has proven her dedication to serving the community. Her appointment took effect on January 1st, 2024.
Ms Valdana Sultan now serves as the District Administrator for Grand Anse Mahe. She holds a Diploma 1 and 2 in Education for Middle/Upper Primary and has dedicated her career to education. Before her appointment as DA, she served as the Deputy Headteacher for Studies at Pointe Larue Primary School. Her experience also includes work as a part-time tutor at the Seychelles Institute for Teacher Education. Ms Sultan’s appointment took effect on February 1st, 2024.
Mrs Nadine Ah-Kon has been appointed as the new District Administrator for Pointe Larue. Holding a BSc in Business Information Systems from the University of Bolton, UK, Nadine brings a blend of academic excellence and practical experience to her role. Her previous positions as a lecturer at the Ministry of Education, Manager of Cargo Sales Development at Air Seychelles, and Manager of Hospital Support Services at the Health Care Agency underscore her versatility and leadership capabilities. Her appointment took effect on February 1st, 2024.
The Ministry congratulates Mrs Cardovillis, Ms Sultan, and Mrs Ah-Kon on their appointments and looks forward to their contributions towards the continued progress and development of their respective districts.
